Open-plan living and dining area

The heart of the house is the spacious living-dining area witch features a comfortable leather sofa with day bed, Smart TV, WiFi (Fibre) internet access, DVD player and numerous books of different genres as well as a wood burning stove for colder winter days.
At the dining room table 6 people can enjoy the meals prepared in the adjoining open kitchen or on the barbecue in the garden. 

The kitchen

The finishings and furnishings of our kitchen are all of a high standard with marble countertops, stainless steel panels and solid wood cabinets.
On approxemately 13 meters you're going to find two ovens, a dual fuel stove (gas and electricity), a refrigerator, a microwave, a dishwasher, an espresso machine and various other kitchen utensils to prepare a meal to remember. Two bar stools on a kitchen bar form a loose transition from the kitchen to the living and dining area.

Bedrooms and bath

The holiday house features two tastefully furnished bedrooms. Both of the bedrooms offer access to the large balconies, great views and extra long beds, high quality mattresses and linen and spacious built-in cupboards. In addition to that you can fall asleep to the sounds of the oceans or the whales.

The west-facing bedroom 'Longbeach' has a king-size bed and a dressing table, the south-facing bedroom 'Kakapo' features a king-size bed or when requested two seperate ones. A fifth person can sleep on the daybed of our large couch. We also provide a cot for your little ones.

The bathroom offers a shower, a bath and toilet as well as an electric bathroom connection for 220 V / 110 V and a vanity light above the bath cabinet. Pool towels, bath towels, towels and washcloths are provided.

Terrace & Balkony

A beloved feature of our holiday home is the terrace and the balcony, 40 sqm and 12 sqm in size.
Offering great views towards Kommetjie with the lighthouse and the Kakapo, a 1905 at Longbeach stranded steamer, the balcony is a great spot for a breakfast in the morning sun.
The terrace is the ideal place to relax after a busy day in the Cape region.
Soak up the sun on one of two comfortable sun loungers and enjoy the views of the mountain and the sea. The terrace offers also a table and seating for 6. Enjoy the last rays of the evening sun and the sunset in the sea.

The pool area of the holiday home

Refresh yourself after a sunny day at the Cape in our large  swimming pool.
The Rock pool is about 10 meters long and big enough to swim a bit. Moreover, there is shallower parts where you might enjoy a drink in a relaxing environment or your kids can start their first swimming attempts.
The pool is cleaned regularly and located in an enclosed area. Perfect water quality will be ensured by the use of a skin friendly salt water chlorinator. 

The children's playground & Barbecue area

Children are very welcome in South Africa and especially at the Cape.
Our children's playground offers a jungle gym, two swings, a tire course and a sandpit. The playground is located under the big willow tree in the shade. Relax in the hammock while keeping an eye on your children at play.

Barbecue - or as the South Africans call it – braai is a national sport at the Cape. There is even a National Braai Day. So it's no wonder that our house provides a fully equipped braai: stone barbecue, large grate, grill utensils, plenty of seating in the shade around the BBQ. 

The area around the pond

The large pond is the focal point of this area with numerous aloes, succulents and Fynbos. The pont is covered with colorful water lilies and is home to some koi. The pond is covered with a net, so that children can play more safely in the garden and the visiting herons are prevented from fishing.
In this area of the garden there is also a dining table and numerous other seating. Especially popular is a mesh seat at the ponds edge with an amazing view of Chapman's Peak.
